Project Description
The European project CREUS, aims to support the transversal skills of disadvantaged and unemployed young people (16-24) to maximize their potential in terms of fostering social, cultural and economic inclusion through access to initial VET and labour markets. In particular, CREUS will:
– Design and test new, non-formal structured culture-based peer learning activities for 120 disadvantaged young people aged 16-24 delivered via tutor and peer support in ‘unconventional spaces’ (festivals, clubs, business incubators and micro business workspace, film and video locations, youth clubs, community centres, shelters, playgrounds, town halls, churches, adapted industrial spaces, museums and art galleries, open air spaces tunnels, farmyards, sports centres) as opposed to the ‘classroom’;
– Create an innovatory series of intellectual outputs that will support tutors, trainers and 25 peer mentors who use cultural learning in non-formal contexts and ‘unconventional’ spaces to engage alienated and disadvantaged young people;
– Develop transversal and transferable skills for disadvantaged young people to access to VET and employment, structured around and informed by the key competences of the European Reference Framework for Lifelong Learning, captured and validated through ECVET and Youthpass
